Course discription
The course deals with the creative and constructive design of lightweight support structures. The focus lies on the digital and experimental modeling of grid shells and membranes. Through tutorials, experiments, and 1:1 workshops, an intuitive understanding of geometry and mechanics is created. Students develop an
architectural solution considering functional, built, and climatic context. The topic of the summer semester 2024 was the roofing of the Hannover Indians ice hockey stadium in Kleefeld.
